Privacy policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information StridLabs collects through this website, how we use it and who we share it with. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- What you tell us in a form. The Get Started form asks for your name, your business's name, your phone number and email address and, if you choose, your current website and anything else you'd like to tell us. The contact form asks for your name, email address and message.
- How you found us. If you arrive from an ad or another website, your browser notes the campaign details in the link, whether you clicked through from Facebook or Google Ads, the website that sent you, the first page you saw and the date. This note stays in your browser and is only sent to us with a form, so we know which ads bring in enquiries.
- What you type in the chat. If you use the chat on our website, we collect your messages and any name or email address you enter (see below).
- How you use the site. Our website analytics service, Visitor Tracking, records your visits: the pages you view, what you do here and how you arrived (see below).
- Answers you haven't sent yet. While you fill in the Get Started form, your answers are saved in your browser so you don't lose them if the page closes. They stay on your device and are deleted when you send the form, or when you clear your browser's data for this site.
- Technical information. Like most websites, the servers that run this site record technical details such as your IP address, your browser and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure.
You can look around the site without telling us who you are. To quote for or build your website, we'll need your contact details.
The Meta Pixel: advertising and measurement
We use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), to measure how well our ads work and to show our ads to people who are likely to be interested, including people who have visited this site.
When you visit, the Meta Pixel sends Meta information such as:
- the pages you view and the buttons you click;
- when you start filling in the Get Started form, when you send it (with the price of our website package), when you send the contact form and when you tap our phone number or a link to text us;
- technical details such as your IP address, browser and device, and the ad you clicked to get here, if any.
The Pixel may also send Meta contact details you type into our forms,
such as your name, email address or phone number, in a scrambled
(hashed) form, so Meta can match your visit to a Facebook or Instagram
account. It doesn't send your messages or what you tell us about your
business. The Pixel stores cookies in your browser, such as one called
_fbp; our site doesn't set any cookies of its own.
Meta and other third parties may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect or receive information from this website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads. If you use Facebook or Instagram, Meta may connect it to your account. Meta handles this information under its own privacy policy.
To opt out, you can:
- in Facebook or Instagram, go to Accounts Centre: Ad preferences controls the ads Meta shows you, and Your activity off Meta technologies lets you clear and disconnect the information businesses like us send Meta;
- block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers;
- opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at aboutads.info/choices.
Visitor Tracking: website analytics
We use Visitor Tracking (visitortracking.com), a website analytics service, to understand how people use this site and which ads bring in enquiries. When you visit, it records:
- your IP address, the pages you visit and what you do on the site, such as sending the Get Started form, or tapping our phone number or a link to text us;
- how you got here, including the ad and campaign (UTM) details in the link you clicked;
- your device and browser, and your approximate location;
- possibly the name of the business linked to your IP address, for example if you visit from a work network.
Visitor Tracking doesn't use cookies. It stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage and session storage to recognise return visits. To remove it, clear your browser's data for this site. A browser or extension that blocks trackers can stop Visitor Tracking collecting this information.
Website chat
The chat bubble on our website is run by our chat provider, DM Champ, and your messages are answered by an AI assistant. When you use it:
- your messages, and any name or email address you enter, go to DM Champ, and the StridLabs team can read the conversation;
- the chat stores information in your browser's local storage, such as the conversation and details of your visit, and may read cookies;
- to keep out spam, it may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that you're a person and not a bot.
You don't have to use the chat; our contact form works too. To remove what the chat has stored, clear your browser's data for this site.
